Rottweilers originated in Southern Germany and gets its name from the town of Rottweil. It was originally bred as a drovers’ dog and a guard dog. Rottweilers were never used as fighting dogs as it is sometimes assumed from their muscular appearance and reputation as a guard dog.

Therefore, it is important that they have lots of dog toys available to them.
