Lazy Lizards

I came across this today and YES THEY ARE REAL.

Henry Lizardlover, a 53 year old from Los Angeles, and, as his name suggests, a lizard lover, has got these lizards happily posing for the camera. He believes that once the lizards become relaxed enough around humans that they have no problem working the camera! Check out more pictures and info here: http://www.todaysplanet.com/pg/beta/lizardlover/

Henry also warns about keeping Iguanas as pets as they can grow to large sizes and become aggressive.

Supporting animal welfare

Being pet lovers and strong supporters of animal rights and welfare it is important to us that Pets.ie has the best interests of animals at the heart of its service. Here are a few things we would like to do to support other animal welfare organisations and help pets and pet owners:

Build a directory of welfare organisations
We want to include a comprehensive directory of Irish animal welfare organisations, groups and shelters on Pets.ie. If you are aware of an organisation that is not listed on our directory then please send us their details.

Promote animal welfare activities
We would like to promote and raise awareness about the positive work carried out by Irish animal welfare organisations, groups and shelters. So please send any related news stories to us and we will publish them on Pets.ie.

Help educate pet owners
It is important that we understand our responsibilities as pet owners and are aware of the level of care that each animal requires once we bring them into our homes. So to help educate pet owners about their new found responsibilities, Pets.ie will post regular articles about pet care on this blog. We would also welcome any vets and/or pet owners to share their pet care knowledge and experiences with us.

Help find pets happy homes
To support Irish animal welfare organisations home and re-home the many animals they help every day, Pets.ie will allow all welfare organisations place ads on Pets.ie at no cost. Please contact us to register your organisation with us.

100 and counting

We had our one hundredth ad placed on the site today.

Not a lot of ads I hear you say and you’d be right but this figure assures us that the site is working smoothly and people are finding it easy to upload their ads.

We would love to get some feedback from our users and would welcome your comments on the website.
