Kelli, a Humbolt Penguin from Dublin Zoo, was p-p-picked up by Gardai on a Dublin city street yesterday afternoon.
It is believed that Kelli was taken by up to 3 men who broke into Dublin zoo at around 8am yesterday morning before the Zoo had opened.
A worker in the Zoo was made aware of Kelli’s disappearance after a morning head count when he noticed 1 of the 14 Humbolt Penguins was missing.
4 hours after she went missing a member of the public spotted the South American penguin wandering a Dublin city street and contacted the Gardai.
Kelli was safely returned to the Zoo and said too be in good health but a little stressed after her kidnapping.
You can see how Kelli is being welcomed back by her housemates via the webcam of her enclosure http://short.ie/htffpg
